Description:
Zone control is a popular strategy for addressing different comfort requirements for different areas in a home. Many customers and contractors new to heat pump installations recognize the advantages of multi-split systems using a single outdoor unit to run multiple air handlers but could cause unintended discomfort if those installations are not carried out carefully. This class will focus on various approaches to zone control for efficient and comfortable outcomes and will compare traditional zoning with multi-split systems, multiple 1-to-1 systems, and combinations of these solutions.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of attending this class, participants will be able to:
- Identify scenarios in which installing a multi-split system is the best option
- Explain the advantage of installing multiple outdoor units instead of a single multi-split outdoor unit when necessary
- Understand why traditional zone control is not the best option for many mini split systems
Target Audience:
