Transitioning residential and commercial heating and cooling systems from gas to electric is a key component of California’s plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As electrification efforts accelerate, HVAC contractors and technicians will increasingly install heat pumps. However, significant variations in operating efficiency can result from installation and commissioning practices.
